So guess what I'm doing? Aside from not going to sleep when I said I would... I'm attempting to write 100 pages of script. Why? Besides the fact that I'm cool like that, I've been challenged. Script Frenzy is a challenge to young writers to write 100 pages of script in the month of April. They are the same people who promote NaNoWriMo- National November Writers Month. When writers attempt to write over 50,000 words in the month of November. So I didn't know what script frenzy was, until my sister told me she was writing a play. This is nothing new as she is the deep tormented writer in the family. But then she eagerly told me I should as well. So I thought about it, and decided, ok, I will sign up. And if I don't do it this time, I'll try it next time. But since I have less than 2 weeks I'm going to give it my all. Well, my all whenever I'm not distracted by the computer and other shiny things. So wish me luck, and try it yourself. www.scriptfrenzy.com
check it out at the very least. It encourages people to write, an art that shouldn't be lost.
And now for the sole (so far) funny scene from my play:
PROFESSOR ALKEN
Although many literary critics would say that the Odyssey is primarily about the love between Odysseus and his wife, I would say it is about more.

(Lily enters with a big to do.)

LILY
I'm sorry I'm late professor. This morning I woke and I was sure the messiah had come. So I tried to book a ticket to Israel. But then I remembered I couldn't afford, so I decided I'd come to class.

PROFESSOR ALKEN
(Commenting dryly)
Lily, as usual we are in awe that you deigned to grace us with your presence. (Turning back to his notes, he clears his throat.)

Good night everybody.

Walk The Walk

I did the random meal at the Kotel thing!
A few weeks ago I told a friend that I didn't think I would ever go to the Machlis's to eat a shabbat meal. The Machlis are an incredibly special family in Israel who host many many people every weekend for meals. They never say no. Someone told me that in their small living room and dinning room he had seen them fit in as many as 80-100 people. This is not an experience reccomended for the easily claustrophobic. I'm not claustrophobic, but I like eating at peoples' homes where I can meet my hosts, and get to know them. However, here I was at the Kotel with my brother, finding myself being led to the Machlis's for a meal. And it was really nice. Not something I would do again on purpose, but since I like trying almost everything at least once, it was great. I was with my bro, so I had someone to talk to. Also at our table where some (interesting?) guys, mostly from Chicago, and this Israeli dude who liked denim a little too much. Behind me sat a friend I had met at the Kotel and a few of her friends. Rabbi Machlis was a bit under the weather so his son and son-in-law ran the show for the evening. Making kiddush and hamotzei. They gave divrei torah and offered everyone a chance to speak. Meanwhile there was plenty of food and the courses kept moving. After sitting cramped for a few hours I was happy for the long walk back to where I was staying.

Houston, We've Had Human Contact.

I get out. Who's been sayin' I don't leave the house. Why you talkin' trash bout me like dat? Why just today, I went all the way to the grocery store across the street and up the hill. So don't nobody be sayin' I don't leave.

Ok, fine you're right, I'm a bum. I sit on my bum, and bum around watching ANTM marathons on youtube. You may think my heart isn't getting enough exercise, but trust me, my HR goes waaaaaay up, when I'm not sure who's gonna make the final cut. Will Jade or Kathy make the cut? The suspense is killing me. Seriously though, I even go to dance parties. Ok it may just be in my jammies in the living room, during my morning stretches, but it's dancing. And around me, life is a partay.

The other morning I dreamed I was running and I woke up with my heart pounding. It was weird and cool all at the same time. But then again, last Fri night in the middle of dinner my HR went out of control, and started palpitating a little (that usually means I didn't get enough physical exercise that day. At least that's what I think.) So maybe my heart just likes pumping. That's a good thing on most days I guess.

I did have human contact today, and not just with my cashier. It may have been over the phone, but I even made plans to see people. I know! So novel, it amazes even me. I mean plans with real live humans is the cooler than cheese on toast, and I do love me some cheese on toast.

In other news, I have one more Indiana Jones movie to go before I will have finished the original 3. Then I'll be good and ready for the 4th one this spring. I also finished my beret. Yay! It's cute and pink. I'm working on a second one and a kippa. My goal is to finish my kippa before my bro gets back from Aussie Land. Will it happen? I don't know, I am a bum after all. But I shall try. Support me in my endeavors and I am practically invincible.

Peace out y'all.
